\nThe Torrey Pines Kiwanis presented a $10,000 check to the Mission Bay Aquatic Center to purchase accessible equipment and to\u00a0support watersports for persons with disabilities.\u00a0 The presentation happened at last month’s La Jolla Arts Festival, whose proceeds from the event support\u00a0athletic programs for persons with disabilities throughout San Diego.\u00a0 The check was presented by\u00a0Festival\u00a0Executive Director, Ted Pena, along with Foundation President, Peter Balantyne, and City of San Diego Council President Pro Tem\u00a0Sherri Lightener (pictured above).\u00a0 Councilmember Lightner was as at the festival to\u00a0provide the\u00a0Torrey\u00a0Pines Kiwanis Foundation\u00a0with a proclamation declaring\u00a0June 22, 2013 as\u00a0La Jolla Festival of the Arts\u00a0Day in San Diego.<\/p>\n
