\nThe Mission Bay Aquatic Center is offering discounted tickets to the La Jolla Festival of the Arts. For just $10 per ticket you can enjoy a great day of art, food, and music, all while supporting accessible watersports at MBAC. That\u2019s a savings of $4 per ticket! The 2-day festival is held on June 22 & 23 at the UCSD campus and is considered to be one of Southern California\u2019s premiere art events. The festival features over 200 artists in an intimate setting of original fine art, entertainment, and delicious cuisines complemented with fine wine and craft beer as you stroll the turf of UCSD Warren Field.<\/p>\n

Every year, the Mission Bay Aquatic Center is able to enrich the lives of hundreds of people with disabilities by giving them the opportunity to experience watersports. By hosting special events for people with disabilities, many who may not otherwise have access are able to experience sailing, kayaking, and waterskiing with adaptable equipment. Our accessible watersports program requires expensive custom equipment and trained assistance, which wouldn\u2019t be possible without funding raised by the Torrey Pines Kiwanis at the La Jolla Festival of the Arts. In addition to fundraising for accessible equipment, the money provided by the festival also provides resources for the additional care necessary for youth with disabilities to be included in The Watersports Camp at MBAC alongside their able-bodied peers.<\/p>\n

Since 1987, the Torrey Pines Kiwanis-produced La Jolla Festival of the Arts has raised more than $1.7 million for local adaptive sports and recreation programs that have served about 40,000 disabled San Diegans. A portion of the tickets sold at MBAC will directly support adaptive watersports at MBAC.
\nDiscounted tickets are being sold on the camp website or at the Mission Bay Aquatic Center for $10 ($14 at the door)\u00a0and will directly support adaptive watersports at the aquatic center. If you are a business owner or manager, consider purchasing a block of tickets for your organization to reward your staff with a fun-filled day at the festival.<\/p>\n
