As\u00a0a result of the difficult economic climate, hunger is at an all time high in San Diego.\u00a0In response, the\u00a074,000 students, staff and faculty of SDSU, UCSD,\u00a0CSUSM,\u00a0and PLNU\u00a0are doing their part to help feed the community by participating in the Colleges Rock Hunger contest Oct.\u00a05 \u2013 28, hosted by the San Diego Food Bank.\u00a0 Each university is competing to see which campus community can collect the most food donations to kick off the SD Food Bank Holiday Drive.<\/div>\n

MBAC would like to encourage participation in the drive by offering a free kayak rental for donations of 5 non-perishable or canned food items in our bin at MBAC, or for donations of $20 or more to the Virtual Pantry<\/i> of the school of your choice.\u00a0 The Virtual\u00a0Pantry is a\u00a0tool where you can donate cash online where every dollar donated is equivalent to 3.84 lbs. of food and provides three meals for San Diegans in need.<\/div>\n
