\"SailingIn cooperation with the California State Parks Division of Boating and Waterways<\/a> we will be kicking off National Safe Boating Week on Sunday, May 21st <\/sup>with our annual Safe Boating Day event\u00a0 featuring free activities including kayak and stand up paddleboard lessons\u00a0and\u00a0rentals, vessel inspections, and a life jacket giveaway.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

This fun event runs from 8am-6pm on May 21st<\/sup>.\u00a0 Rentals must be returned by 5:30pm.\u00a0 Life jackets are first come, first served, while supplies last.<\/p>\n

In addition to the boating safety activities there will also be a used equipment sale<\/a>\u00a0from 8am-12pm where you can load up on equipment for summer.<\/p>\n

Life jackets are essential safety equipment for those spending time around or on the water. Last year drowning was reported as the cause of death in three-fourths of all boating related fatalities.\u00a0 Approximately 85 percent of those who drowned were not wearing life jackets.\u00a0 If you do not have a life jacket, pick one up at the free life jacket giveaway (while supplies last) and wear it at all times while boating.<\/p>\n

Bring your friends and the entire family down to share in the excitement of preparing for a fun and safe summer boating season. \u00a0Mission Bay Aquatic Center is the regional boating safety center for the California State Parks Division of Boating and Waterways.<\/p>\n
