Mission Bay Aquatic Center Recognized for Paddling Safety Content

Mission Bay Aquatic Center was officially honored by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) for it’s work promoting paddling safety through digital content. The 2025 National Paddlesports Committee Honors (NPCH) award was presented to Jamie Eubanks, MBAC Instructional Coordinator, at the 2025 Paddlesports Trade Coalition in Charlotte, North Carolina. This award celebrates excellence in promoting paddling safety online.

MBAC Instructor receives national recognition during International Women in Science Day

Recently, MBAC resident Marine Science Program Assistant, Sara Rosenblatt, was recognized by U.S. Sailing for her achievements in developing STEM programs for kids as part of International Women and Girls in Science Day. Sara, an SDSU Marine Ecology Masters candidate and U.S. Sailing Reach educator, has worked diligently to develop a marine science program at MBAC that inspires interest in ocean conservation, and develops lifelong connections to the ocean through real world experiences.

Glen Brandenburg celebrates 101 semesters of service

Glen Brandenburg, Associated Students’ Director of Facilities and Sustainability, and founder of the Mission Bay Aquatic Center, was recently recognized for his 45 years of service to SDSU and the community. Starting as a freshman in 1968, Glen’s contributions to the SDSU community include the founding of the Mission Bay Aquatic Center, and the maintenance of 500,000 sq. ft. of facilities and energy efficiency and renewable energy projects on the San Diego State University campus.
